Many people are afraid to try yoga as it can sometimes look challenging. The first thing to bear in mind is yoga is for everyone! There isn’t a right age or body size to start.
We often hear people say “yoga isn’t for me, I’m not flexible”, well that’s the whole point! Yoga will make your body more flexible, and you’ll perhaps even manage to do things you never thought you could achieve. It doesn’t have to be a hand stand. If touching your toes is your goal, it’s great, your yoga practice belongs to you, and it doesn’t matter if your mat neighbour is able to do things you couldn’t dream of.
Most importantly, a regular yoga practice will make you feel better, no exceptions. You may need to find the style or teacher that suits you, but once you do, yoga has the capacity to change the way you live, breathe, and your outlook on life.
Whether you choose yoga for its spirituality or to look fit, a regular practice will anyway increase your strength, flexibility, heart health, and science has started to provide some concrete clues on how yoga is an actual asset to improve your health; Not convinced yet? We have listed the reasons it should be part of your weekly routine.
